Cluster Suite
A "set" of similar Domain names, for example, the three Domain cluster of: CubanLottery.com, Cuban-Lottery.com, Cuba-Lottery.com. These cluster suites of Domain names, when properly structured and utilized and when under common ownership and/or with common purpose, can perform two very important functions. First, the cluster suite can be used to strengthen search engine recognition. It is easier to find four things than one. Second, the cluster suite can be used to exclude competing Domains with close sounding or spelling from being visited, when the seeker is actually looking for you. In other words, the cluster suite widens your footprint on the internet. (see Search Engine Packing and Search Booster, below.)
Country Codes (ccTLD)
A two-character Domain name extension that stands for a country, such as .uk (United Kingdom) and .ca (Canada) ccTLDs. Currently more than 240 country code top level Domains (ccTLDs) exist. Other examples include .cu (Cuba) and .fr (France). Country Codes can be restricted to registrants located in a specific country or area.
CUBAN DOMAIN NAME TERMINOLOGY
Cyber Squatting (CyberSquatting)
CyberSquatting is when an individual/company registers someone else's trademarked Domain with the intent of extorting money for the Domain at a later date. Our Domains, for the most part, were originally registered or purchased as simple investments with the future purpose to resell the name and later develop a web site around it. The secondary Domain market is a legitimate business and is currently considered to be one of the fastest-growing and highest quality high tech-related business opportunities.

Domain Name
The unique textual name assigned to a particular series of letters and numbers, followed by a .com, .net, .org, or .edu for Domain names registered in the United States, or .cu for names registered in Cuba. This series of letters is used as a means of identification for use on the internet. Used for this purpose, the text names are designed to be easy to remember and easy to type alternatives to the real addresses of computer/servers and routers on the internet, which is a series of numbers in unique order (see IP address.)
GLOSSARY DOMAIN NAME TERMS CUBAN
Domain Name System (DNS)
The Domain Name System (DNS) allows users to visit computers on the Internet by a name rather than a harder-to-remember IP address. The DNS, started in the mid-80s, is a distributed database containing records that allow users to input another computer's Domain name, which your computer then converts to the other computer's IP address. The DNS has a hierarchical structure, with each name composed of a series of "labels" separated by dots. (see IP Address below) The rightmost label in a name refers to the name's top-level Domain (such as .org). Each top-level Domain can be divided into many second-level Domains (such as icann.org). Second-level Domains can be divided into third-level Domains (such as www.icann.org and members.icann.org), and so on. Rule of thumb: the DNS system uses primarily words, the IP system uses only numbers.

GLOSSARY DOMAIN NAME WORDS
IP Address

It is the value of the first number of the IP address that determines the class to which a given IP address belongs. (class D addresses are used for multi-cast applications, and are not normally seen by the average user) Rule of thumb: the IP system uses only numbers, the DNS system uses primarily words.
